People Power Monument defaced with ‘Marcos pa rin!’ graffiti

In a Philstar.com report, SPO2 Bernardo Vallesteros of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 8 confirmed that the People Power Monument was vandalized with graffiti declaring, “Marcos pa rin!”

The monument is located along EDSA corner White Plains Avenue in Barangay Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City. Vallesteros said that “the vandalism was likely committed late Monday, March 14, or early Tuesday, March 15.” The police are now conducting an investigation to identify the person or persons responsible for the defacement.

The monument was created in 1993 by Eduardo Castrillo to mark the end of the 20-year regime of Presdident Ferdinand Marcos. He was ousted due to the People Power Revolution that culminated on Feb 25, 1986.
