Duterte the driver? Well, kind of, but not quite.
A video posted by Facebook user Rachelle Oyette Dequina this morning is making its rounds online because it shows a taxi driver who sounds exactly like Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte.
The women recording the video couldn’t help but laugh at the driver, identified as Elcias Bugsad, who memorized many of the president’s most quotable quotes and mimicked him almost perfectly.
Just like Duterte, Bugsad is from Davao, but it’s not only their accents that are similar. The driver can also copy Duterte’s cadence and occasional voice cracks.

The video already had close to 4 million views, 90,000 reactions, more than 60,000 shares, and 11,000 comments as of posting time.
And believe it or not, Bugsad isn’t even the first taxi driver to be compared to the president. In October, photos posted by Facebook user Norman Talimongan went viral after he noted that the driver of a taxi he rode looked a lot like Duterte. According to ABS-CBN News, the driver’s name is Ponciano “Dodong” Veronas and is also from Davao.
