The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) is warning the public against the proliferation of the illegal drug Ecstasy in bubblegum form.
“Just recently, PDEA confiscated a parcel containing 500 different-colored tablets containing high-grade ecstasy (3,4-methylenedioxy-methamphetamine) at the Philippine Post Office in Parañaque. The parcel came from the Netherlands. The consignee failed to claim it from the post office,” reports Jay Ruiz on ABS-CBNnews.com.
PDEA Region 3 public information officer Glenn Guillermo, this allows drug dependents to chew the illegal narcotics in public. “It’s easier for dealers and users to sell it or conceal it,” he explained in Filipino.
Guiellermo said the target market for the bubblegum Ecstasy is most likely students in private schools in both high school and college.
