PDEA burns over P637 million worth of illegal drugs

Because, really, what else do you do with these things?

“On Wednesday, June 25, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) destroyed a total of P637.8 million worth of dangerous drugs at the Integrated Waste Management Inc. (IWMI), Barangay Aguado, Trece Martirez City, Cavite,” reports Dennis Cacamo on Philstar.com.

This was what they burned: “A total of 386,080.5 grams (386.08 kilograms) of assorted pieces of drug evidence composed of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, ephedrine, cocaine, marijuana, ecstasy, valium, oxycodone, as well as expired medicines.”

The report said that key officials of PDEA and other law enforcement agencies, representatives from the Department of Justice, the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), the Pubic Attorney’s Office, non-government organizations (NGOs) and media witnessed the destruction of the illegal drugs.
