Yes, it’s up for grabs.
“At a news conference at the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) building in Mandaluyong City on Thursday, March 26, PCGG chairman Andres Bautista announced the opening of the public auction for the 18.5-hectare prime property in Pasig City popularly known as ‘Payanig sa Pasig’ with a current market value estimated at PHP16,450,553,000,” reports Jaime Sinapit on InterAksyon.com.
That means the lot is worth PHP89,461.10 per square meter.
Bautista stated, “We have been given the green light by the government to sell the property.” He explained that the PCGG was informed about the green light from the Privatization Council of the Department of Finance (DOF).
The former “Payanig sa Pasig” property is located in the heart of the business district in Ortigas, Pasig City. The report indicated that “it was surrendered to the government by businessman Jose Y. Campos, a known associate of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos.”
