The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) has just announced the 15 players who will be included on the list of the 40 greatest players in the league’s history. It was done to mark the league’s 40th season.
“The 40 players will be honored in a special event celebrating the PBA’s 40th anniversary in April 2015,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

The report noted: “MVP winners were automatically put on the list, but players should have played at least five seasons in the league. They also should have won a major award, and must have created a great impact on the PBA and the sport of basketball in general.”
The report added that “PBA Chairman Patrick Gregorio, vice-chairman Robert Non, Rep. Elpidio Barzaga, the chair of the Games and Amusements Committee of the House of Representatives, and reporters Joaquin Henson and Barry Pascua deliberated for two hours on Monday, December 1, to select the 15 players to be added to the list.”
