After taking nearly a hundred pills in an apparent attempt to take his own life last week, PBA cager Mark ‘MacMac’ Cardona is now back on his feet.
He was visited by his friends from his Alma Mater, De La Salle University, and sports columnist and analyst Quinito Henson.
Henson posted a few photos of their reunion with MacMac, showing how Captain Hook (Cardona’s PBA moniker) is now “in high spirits” and doing better after spending a week in the hospital.
Henson writes, “PBA star MacMac Cardona of NLEX (second from left) is back on his feet and in good spirits although he’s still confined in the hospital.”
He adds, “MacMac is thankful to God for this second chance and vows to straighten his life … he battled depression after his girlfriend Bianca left him with their two children and was confined for a week last July to address his mental condition … MacMac said he’s embracing God’s will and determined to become the new Miracle Man!”

Henson said MacMac is now at Makati Medical Center with a psychiatrist to monitor his recovery.
“MacMac said God’s gift of a 2nd life will spur him to turn a new leaf and he thanks all his relatives, friends and fans for their prayers … he’s dedicating the rest of his life to them … he’s refocusing to get his basketball career back on track! He wants to be closer to God now!” Henson wrote.
Get well soon, MacMac! We know you’ll bounce back soon!
