After all these years, Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) still has a lot of sequestered properties to take back.
“The PCGG has recovered the 1.1 hectare prime property in Pasig City,” reports Dennis Carcamo on Philstar.com.
The PCGG explained that the property “forms part of the 18.5 hectare Payanig sa Pasig estate which was surrendered by Marcos associate, Jose Yao Campos, to the PCGG in 1986.”
The report indicated that “the property was recovered with the help of the Mid-Pasig Land Development Corp. (MPLDC), a corporation which was likewise surrendered to the government.”
Thus, the court sheriff — together with PCGG officials and Office of the Solicitor General lawyers and the Pasig City police — implemented the order of Pasig City Metropolitan Trial Court Judge Marilou Runes Tumang. They had to evict more than 25 affected tenants.
