This is good news for commuters.
“The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Friday, May 15, opened four more stations for its Pasig River Ferry Service: Barangay Hulo (Mandaluyong), Barangay Valenzuela (Makati), Lawton (Manila) and at the Lambingan Bridge in Sta. Ana, Manila,” reports Mike Frialde on Philstar.com.
MMDA Chair Francis Tolentino added that there are also five new vessels for the ferry service — with each able to carry between 25 and 30 passengers on an average speed of about 30 kilometers per hour.
This brings the overall total of boats to 11. The Pasig River Ferry’s seven other terminals are in Guadalupe (Makati City); Pinagbuhatan and San Joaquin (Pasig City); and Escolta, PUP Sta. Mesa, Plaza Mexico and Sta. Ana (Manila).
The ferry service charges passengers between PHP30 and PHP95 depending on the distance travelled between terminals.
