Pasay opens hotline against overpricing

Pasay City Mayor Antonio Calixto on Saturday acted on reports of overpricing in the calamity-stricken city – specially fish and other seafood, after the onslaught of typhoon Maring early this week.

Aside from issuing a warning to local businessman, the city also set up a hotline where citizens may report incidences of overpricing by unscrupulous merchants. The number is 5517777.

The Mayor’s office maintains that prices of basic goods like rice, milk and sardines, should not be increased, Inquirer News reported.
