he mother of a 16-year-old patient at Pasay City General Hospital is seeking help after a doctor allegedly placed a sanitary napkin in the mouth of her teen daughter while the latter was giving birth on Mon afternoon, May 18.
Elsa Abello, a janitor at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal (NAIA) 1, said she was shocked to hear how the attending physician allegedly placed a sanitary napkin in the mouth of her daughter while she was giving birth.
She added that her daughter heard the attending doctor saying in Filipino, “You are so noisy,” before allegedly putting the sanitary napkin in her mouth.
Abello’s daughter, who was undergoing normal delivery at said hospital, was not able to remove the napkin from her mouth until the procedure was over.
The teen narrated the incident to her mother on Tue, May 19.
Abello said she intends to file a formal complaint with the administrators of Pasay City General Hospital and the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
“That doctor needs to be taught a lesson for doing that to my child,” Abello said.
