Parents should police their kids…more so in Mandaluyong.
“Under a recently passed Mandaluyong City ordinance, parents and guardians whose kids are found guilty of breaking the law face up to a one-year imprisonment or fines of up to PHP5,000,” reports Kristine Felisse Mangunay in the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Under the ordinance authored by 1st District Councilor Charisse Abalos, parents are in trouble if their kids commit the following offenses: possession of deadly weapons, smoking and alcohol consumption, use of illegal drugs, gambling, and violation of the city’s 10pm curfew.
The measure also lists as offenses driving without a license, riding a motorcycle without a helmet on or riding an overloaded motorcycle or tricycle.
