The family of the baby who received three gunshot wounds from the police during a raid last week sought help from the National Bureau of Investigations (NBI) Tuesday afternoon, after finding out that the police officers responsible for the incident are still active in service.

The 7-month-old baby who was used as a human shield by a drug suspect is now in stable condition, but doctors say he might have difficulties walking when grows older, reports ABS-CBN News.

“I want them to be responsible for what they did. They should stop hiding,” said the baby’s mother Monica Roxas.

Family relative Alvin Gacos added that there seems to be no development in the police investigations.

The head of Manila Police District Station 10 said that they stopped the investigations after the baby’s grandmother Jocelyn Roxas who witnessed the incident allegedly said that she did not see the police shoot her grandson. Jocelyn denied the claim.

“It’s their right to complain, we conducted a legitimate operation. If they will complain, we are ready to face them,” Supt. Rolando Gonzales said.

Jocelyn’s husband was also arrested in the incident for illegal gambling and for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law.

The family will also ask help from the Human Rights Commission and the National Police Commission.
