Serial offenders deserve no pardon.
A man given a presidential pardon for killing a cop seven years ago has been convicted for kidnapping by a Las Piñas Regional Trial Court judge. Nick Perucho was sentenced to life imprisonment with no possibility of parole by Judge Ismael Duldulao for kidnapping the sibling of a computer shop owner in April 2009.
Perucho and his cohorts demanded PHP20 million as ransom. However, the victim’s family worked with the Police Anti-Crime Emergency Response (PACER) and recovered the boy before the pay off was made. Five other kidnappers died in the shootout while Perucho was later caught at a checkpoint in Antipolo after a robbery attempt, the Philippine Star reported.
