Perhaps because Valentine’s Day happens around the same time, the Parañaque City government has decided to mark its 16th cityhood anniversary next month with the Sunduan Festival.
“Mayor Edwin Olivarez explained that the Sunduan is a tradition in the city that depicts the act of a man fetching the object of his affection from the woman’s home to bring her to church or the town plaza,” reports Jean Fernando in the Manila Bulletin.
Parañaque’s anniversary activities start on Feb 8 with a city-wide motorcade and the opening a trade fair at the SM City BF Parañaque. The culmination will be the Sunduan on Feb 13.
This should be interesting.
