Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) chief Atty. Persida Rueda-Acosta lost consciousness at a press conference for dismissed Philippine Military Academy (PMA) cadet Aldrin Jeff Cudia on Thu, Sep 10.
Acosta became wrought with emotion while expressing her dismay over the PMA’s continued failure to release Cudia’s school records.
After passing the microphone to the next speaker, Acosta blanked out and slumped from where she was standing.
The lawyer regained consciousness after being attended to by forensic expert Dr. Erwin Erfe who was present in the event.
According to Erfe, Acosta’s blood pressure (BP) soared to 160/100.
The lawyer said she felt woozy and experienced headache prior to blanking out but assured that she now feels better.
“Okay na po ako. Medyo sumakit lang ang ulo tapos nahilo, nag-shoot up ‘yung BP ko. Medyo siguro emotional ako kanina. Pasensya na po (I am OK now. My head hurt and I got dizzy because my blood pressure shot up. I got emotional earlier. Pardon me),” Acosta said.
Cudia’s camp will file a motion for clarification before SC this afternoon to question its denial of their first petition for the reversal of Cudia’s dismissal and the release of his transcript of records.
Cudia needs his school records to pursue a law degree in the University of the Philippines. (with a report from Noel Alamar, radio dzMM)
