Businessman Manny Pangilinan, representing The Manila North Tollways Corp., has released some PHP1.89 million in funds to help renovate and upgrade the University of the Philippines’ (UP) Road Safety Research Laboratory. Besides the laboratory funds, Pangilinan also gifted UP officials with three handheld global positioning system devices, a LIDAR speed gun, and personal computers with transportation research software on Thursday.
In a Philippine Star report, UP Road Safety Research Laboratory chief Ricardo Sigua said the funding and equipment would further road safety research and would extend the center’s training and other activities.
