Despite the bloodbath that has ensued due to the government’s war against drugs, there are still some people who push their luck.
A 46-year-old beautician in Bugallon, Pangasinan, is now facing charges after police discovered that he was pimping out women and offering drugs to further entice customers.
Beautician Isidro Cantor had been the subject of a week-long surveillance by intelligence operatives over his alleged involvement in drug activities.
On Mon night, Aug 29, they arrested him in an entrapment operation at a hotel.
Police, who acted as buyers, recovered a sachet of suspected shabu from Cantor in exchange for a PHP500 bill.
But Cantor later claimed that the shabu was not his.
Chief Inspector Joseph Imperial, Bugallon chief of police, said that drugs were part of a package that Cantor offered to his customers.
This was confirmed by the 21-year-old woman who was arrested along with Cantor.
“The woman, who wished not to be named, disclosed that she was being paid PHP2,000 a night by customers (mostly tricycle drivers) and Cantor would slash PHP500 as commission. She claimed that drugs were also sold to the said customers,” reports Michelle Soriano on ABS-CBN News.
Imperial explained, “Kapag nambugaw siya kinakabit niya rito yung ibebenta niyang droga. To the extent na yung drugs ay ginagamit para magkaroon ng sexual satisfaction yung customer at yung biktima.”
(“When he pimps out women, he offers drugs as part of the package, To the extent that the drugs are used to guarantee the sexual satisfaction of both the customer and the victim.”)
Cantor has been charged for violating the Dangerous Drugs Act and Anti-Trafficking in persons Act. Meanwhile, the 21-year-old woman will be turned-over to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office.
