Malacañang has proposed high rise school buildings to address the shortage of classrooms and school buildings each school year.
In an ABS CBN News report, deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte assured citizens that the problem is being dealt with and that the President is aware of the classroom shortage. She noted that the DepEd (Department of Education) and the DPWH (Department of Public Works and Highways) have an ongoing project to solve the classroom shortage situation.
Valte said they are looking at the DepEd model of two-storey classrooms. However, this is more difficult to implement in the metropolis due to the lack of available land where these can be constructed. She added that the government is looking to cut its backlog on classrooms significantly.
