This may give the government’s critics to revive the infamous term, “Noynoying.”
“Malacañang confirmed on Wednesday, August 13, that former Maj. Gen. Jovito Palparan sent surrender feelers to President Benigno Aquino III in 2011,” reports Dexter San Pedro on InterAksyon.com.
But, as presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda explained in a briefing aired over state-run Radyo ng Bayan, Aquino did not act on the surrender feelers back then.
The report noted: “Lacierda said the President learned his lesson from not accepting Palparan’s surrender feelers—leading to the latter evading arrest for more than two years—and this may account for his accepting the surrender feeler of businesswoman and alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Napoles.”
