“The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced that another weather disturbance lingering over the Pacific Ocean in the eastern border of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has rapidly developed into a tropical cyclone,” reports Lai de Vera in Tempo.
According to PAGASA weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio, the tropical depression may enter the PAR by Friday. Once it does, it will be named “Ruby,” making it the 18th tropical cyclone to enter Philippine waters this year and the first this month.
The report noted: “Its location was estimated about 3,200 kilometers east of General Santos City before noon yesterday.”
