Let’s keep our eye on this storm.

“Gener Quitlong of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said there are two scenarios for Tropical Storm ‘Bavi,’ which will be called ‘Betty’ once it enters the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR),” reports Frances Mangosing on Inquirer.net.

Quitlong outlines the two scenarios:

1. “The storm could make landfall by Friday, March 20, or Saturday, March 21, in Northern or Central Luzon.”

2. “It could continue to weaken and dissipate in the following days before it hits land in Northern or Central Luzon on Friday, March 20.”

As of 10am on Tue, Mar 17, “Bavi was seen 1,430 kilometers east of Bicol region, packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 80 kph.”
