We almost forgot he was a basketball player, too!

“Boxing champ Manny Pacquiao scored his first career point in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) on Wednesday, February 18, scoring on a free throw for the Kia Carnival against the Purefoods Star Hotshots,” reports GMA News Online.

The report noted: “The Filipino ring icon’s point came at the 11:24 mark of the second period after being fouled by Allein Maliksi on a drive. He missed his first attempt before making his second. He later missed his next two attempts from the field.”

Pacquiao was appointed Kia’s coach before the season started. He then also officially joining the team as a player after being picked in the draft.

The report likewise pointed out that “it was Pacquiao’s debut for the team in the ongoing Commissioner’s Cup.” He played in two games in the Philippine Cup. Unfortunately, he failed to score in those games.
