Is Pacman really saying sorry for his comments on same-sex marriage?

It’s no secret that boxer and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao has tagged himself as an ultra-conservative Christian. So, are we really going to be surprised that he says something so harsh against the subject of same-sex marriage?

We know for a fact that the Bilang Pilipino interview that had sought Pacquiao’s stand on a list of issues simply let him talk to his heart’s content. In other words, Pacquiao knocked himself out in making the statement about his opposition to same-sex marriage.

Our questions is this: Who are the people handling Pacquiao’s campaign? Are they the same people handling the Alma Moreno campaign? Because it sure seems like they let their man down on this one.

Yes, Pacquiao is entitled to his opinion. However, he’s running for senator, so his opinion is going to be judged by the public.

While many self-confessed devout Catholics professed their support for Pacquiao, there were also people who wished that he had been more diplomatic with his answer.

The backlash proved to be so bad that Pacquiao has posted an apology video on his official Facebook page. In the video, Pacquiao states, “I’m sorry for hurting people by comparing homosexuals to animals. Please forgive me for those I’ve hurt. I still stand on my belief that I’m against same sex marriage because of what the Bible says, but I’m not condemning LGBT. I love you all with the love of the Lord. God Bless you all and I’m praying for you.”

So, does this mean that Pacquiao’s desire to be a senator is stronger than his faith-based opinions?
