He’s not just getting into basketball.
“One Fighting Championship CEO Victor Cui confirmed that Manny Pacquiao has bought an undisclosed number of shares in the Asian-based mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion company,” reports Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports.
Cui was quoted as saying, “”I’m pretty pumped. There are a ton of reasons why I’m pretty excited about this. Obviously, Manny Pacquiao is a global sports icon and having him as a part of our organization as a shareholder and promoting One FC and promoting the sport is huge for the sport in the region. It promotes awareness and growth.”
Aside from his foray into MMA, Pacquiao, as mentioned, is also into basketball. He is the head coach of expansion team Kia Motors in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He also has plans to apply in the PBA Draft this month.
Pacquiao is set to defend his WBO welterweight title in Macau against Chris Algieri on November 22.
