Basahin nila sa Romans 13 nandun yan, pabor ako diyan (The death penalty is Biblical. They should read Romans 13, it’s there, I’m in favor of it),” he said.
GMA News Online reported: “But aside from its Biblical significance, the boxing icon also believes that the death penalty is a good measure to instill discipline among Filipinos. He expressed confidence that only criminals will receive the punishment.”
“Hindi naman siguro magdesisyon ng kamatayan ang authority ng government kung wala kang kasalanan. So yan yung, kung baga, pangdisiplina ng mga tao para yung tao di sumobra (I don’t think the authority of the government will decide to punish you with death penalty if you have not committed any crimes. That would serve as a way to discipline people so they won’t go overboard),” Pacquiao said.
