Metro Manila commuters, let’s all give a collective sigh of relief.
The Point to Point (P2P) bus system has resumed operations folowing an agreement with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and Department of Transportation.
“After a lengthy conversation with LTFRB and DOTr, the problem of a missing tax payment validation for our 2015 ITR could be resolved and we agreed with LTFRB to fully cooperate on their requirements by Mon morning,” the permium bus company posted on its Facebook page.

“We agreed with DOTr and LTFRB to offer our patrons a 2-day free service before we resume our services with the new schedules for 2017 by Tues (Jan 10),” the company added.
Free rides were offered yesterday and are still available until today, Jan 9.
Holders of round trip tickets for Fri, Jan 6, can still use their tickets up to Jan 13. Meanwhile, holders of monthly passes were advised wait for further announcement from the company for their compensation.
“We would like to state again that we maintain a good working relationship with LTFRB and DOTr since more than one year on the P2P project. The service and the kind of franchise are quite new and there are constant adjustments needed to comply with existing legal frameworks,” P2P Froehlich Tours wrote on its Facebook page.
“Our 2015 tax records have been submitted electronically to LTFRB together with the 2015 tax clearance for bidding purposes,” the company said. However, LTFRB is asking for a hard copy.
According to a statement posted on the LTFRB twitter account, the P2P bus service was suspended “to protect the riding public.”
The owners of Froehlich Tours were asked to submit a proof of payment, validated by the concerned bank, of their 2015 income tax.
