He’s no sacred cow.
Outgoing Bureau of Customs chief Ruffy Biazon, who announced his resignation yesterday, told ANC’s Headstart that he does not mind being government’s “sacrificial lamb” to prove that Palace allies aren’t untouchable.
Biazon’s name was included in the list of individuals whom the Department of Justice charged with malversation, bribery, and corruption practices in connection with the pork barrel scam involving Janet Lim Napoles. He explained that he had resigned in order to protect President Noynoy Aquino from critics who may use the issue against the administration.
The report quoted Biazon, who said, “At this point, if that is the role I’m playing now so be it.”
Biazon has emphasized that he is innocent of the charges filed against him. Biazon will vacate his post as BOC chief by the end of the week.
