The Quezon City government seems to be on a roll.
“Just days before he signed into law an ordinance imposing an annual garbage fee on residents, Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista also approved a 10 percent increase in business taxes,” reports Jeannette I. Andrade in the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
The report pointed out that both the garbage and the business tax ordinances were authored by Councilor Victor Ferrer Jr. of the first district. The garbage fee ordinance was approved on December 24. The business tax thing was signed on December 20.
Oh, by the way, business owners have until Jan 20 to meet the first quarter deadline.
