For now, only Filipino government officials are affected by Hong Kong’s cancellation of visa-free privileges.

“This was confirmed by Presidential Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma, who explained that the decision of the Hong Kong government canceling the visa-free privileges of Philippine diplomats and officials has a limited effect,” reports ABS-CBN News correspondent Adrian Ayalin on ABS-CBNnews.com.
As a rule, Filipinos can stay in Hong Kong without visas for 14 days. Hong Kong, though, decided to withdraw this privilege from Philippine government officials in connection with the 2010 Manila bus hostage crisis.
