Ortigas Center eyed as key BPO site

There’s no doubt that the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry continues to grow in the country—not to mention Metro Manila alone.

“According to Phillip Anonuevo, Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) associate director, the interest from BPOs in two new office buildings in Ortigas Center runs high as it would be made available in the first half of 2014,” reports Roger M. Garcia in Manila Standard Today.

The two new office buildings are Cyberscape Alpha, which is located along Garnet and Sapphire Roads and Cyberscape Beta, another BPO office building scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2014. Together, these Robinsons Land projects together offer a gross floor area of 80,000 square meters.

The report went on to quote Anonuevo, who said, “We’ve realized that the district remains very attractive to BPOs. After all, it is strategically and centrally located in Metro Manila and offers easy access to residents of San Juan, Quezon City, Pasig, Cainta, and Marikina as well as Taguig, Pateros, and Paranaque. Given the tight competition for talent in the industry, BPOs prioritize location as it heavily influences the employment choices of BPO agents.”
