Ombudsman warns of impostors

The Office of the Ombudsman says people pretending to be its employees have been calling up government agencies to make requests and ask for information.

“The Ombudsman has not authorized, as it does not authorize, any official or employee of the Office to verbally convey any request, information or any matter in representation of the Office. In case of doubt, the public is advised to verify the authenticity of the purported message or issuance by calling the Ombudsman hotline (926-2662),” the office said in a statement.
