Ombudsman Stylebook to boost writing skills of investigators

Good communication skills go a long way.

“The Ombudsman launched on Monday, Mar 31, its 130-page Ombudsman Stylebook to enhance the analytic and writing skills of the agency’s more than 1,000 investigators and prosecutors,” Jun Ramirez in Tempo Online.

The report explained that “the printing and distribution of the book is part of a bigger program launched last year by the Ombudsman and the British Embassy dubbed as Rapid Assessment and Seminar on Case Analysis and Legal Draftsmanship (RASCALD).”

The RASCALD initiative aims to increase the disposition rate of criminal and administrative cases by 25% in 2015 and eventually a zero case backlog by 2018.

Plus, perhaps, what the Ombudsman really needs is more investigators. An earlier report said the agency only has 100 investigators when it needs 2,000!
