Ombudsman sets court date for Bong Revilla on April Fool’s Day

The date is an accidental joke, although the rest of us already feel like fools as we watch this story unfold.

“Sen. Ramon Bong Revilla Jr., one of three senators accused of plunder before the Office of the Ombudsman in the pork-barrel scam, will have his day in court on April 1,” reports InterAksyon.com.

The report explained that “the Supreme Court has set strict parameters for parties to discuss when it set oral arguments that day at its summer facility in Baguio City.”

The report went on to explain that “to ensure orderly proceedings during the Oral Arguments for April 1, the Third Division issued a resolution requiring parties to discuss specific issues in the petition filed by Senator Revilla Jr., seeking to restrain the Office of the Ombudsman, the National Bureau of Investigation, Atty. Levito Baligod, and the Ombudsman’s Field Investigation Office from going after him.”
