Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales is on point about this whole Makati mess

And on the third day, a hint of peace — somewhat.

Wednesday began with the steel barricades removed from the Makati City Hall. There was relative peace, compared to Tuesday’s chaos.

But of course. The Ombudsman has spoken late Tuesday and boy, was she on point! Spot on! Clear as crystal.

Where the Binays say it’s another one of them attacks on their family, Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales simply said — and we’re thankful for it — that “This is about the right of the Filipino people to hold their public servants to the highest bar of accountability.”

“Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales warned she would not tolerate ‘mob rule’ after supporters of Vice President Jejomar Binay scuffled with police authorities enforcing her suspension order against his son, Makati City Mayor Junjun Binay,” Julie Aurelio and Maricar B. Brizuela report in the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

The report continues, “Morales dismissed claims by the Binay camp that her office was being used by Malacañang to harass the Vice president and his family, saying it performed its mandate according to law and evidence.

“’It will never succumb to any perceived pressure or be blinded or deafened by political grandstanding. It will not tolerate open defiance of constitutional processes or calls for mob rule. This is about the right of the Filipino people to hold their public servants to the highest bar of accountability and to bring them before the bar of justice if they are accused of betraying public trust,’” Morales said.

Of course the Binays through Atty Harry Roque expectedly condemned the second suspension order, saying the Ombudsman should’ve respected the first injunction issued by the Court of Appeals.

Basically, he called the second suspension order a disrespect toward the Supreme Court.

Since we’re in the topic of disprespect, how would you call the Binays ignoring the Senate hearings? #justasking
