In the early nineties, the love team of broadway singer Lea Salonga and actor Aga Muhlach made Filipino romantics fall in love with their movies Sana Maulit Muli and Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal.
More than two decades later, a heartfelt letter from Aga for Lea is going viral on social media. In the letter, he called his onscreen partner “the one that got away.” (*tears*)
The letter was actually made public four years ago. It was published as part of Playlist: A Celebration of 35 Years, a souveneir book from Leah’s concert in 2013. A Twitter user uploaded a copy of the whole letter over the weekened and it became the subject of social media’s viral wonders.

Aga’s opening line will melt your heart.
“Lea is the one that got away. And she never knew,” he said.
Aga then narrated how Lea “saved” him when he was feeling lost in his career in 1992.
He also sang praises for Lea’s voice, professionalism, and attitude.
But he can seem to stop talking poetry about his feelings for her.
“Lea is the one that got away. And she never knew. So now she knows. We are older and wiser now, we have gone our own ways, we are no longer the same. But the fire has not ebbed. Rather it has grown deeper, stronger, quieter, more enduring. I love her still, but perhaps because she got away, I have her as a friend now, and so I will always have her.” he said.
Aga is now married to Charlene Gonzales, while Lea is married to Robert Charles Chien.
The viral post is reigniting the clamor for an Aga-Lea reunion movie.
