You know we love strange. And this twisted coconut tree is so strangely beautiful — we just can’t ignore it.
As you can see in these photos taken by Hero Bacuño at a coconut plantation farm in Lamitan City, Basilan, the tree’s trunk is “curved into a shape of a slithering snake.” It is believed to be around 30 meters tall.

Even the officials of the Lamitan City Agriculture Office can’t explain this unusual phenomenon. The other coconut trees around the special tree are towering tall and proud, just as they should.
Coconut trees are popularly called the “tree of life.” In tropical countries, they are known as a good source of source of food, clothing, shelter and more.
The bad news? The special tree may be cut down soon since it is infected with cocolisap, a pest that prevents trees from bearing fruit, GMA News reports.
