It’s an unfortunate incident. Fortunately, the person involved is now under treatment.
An offloaded passenger allegedly tried to harm himself at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 on Sat evening, Aug 29.
The 23-year-old seaman identified as Samuel Ambato, a native of Cotabato City, was initially booked in a commercial flight bound for Davao at Ninoy Aquino International Aairport (NAIA) Terminal 4 on Sat afternoon when the airline decided to offload him for alleged unruly behavior.
According to initial reports by airport police, Ambato was with his parents and siblings when they left NAIA-4 and proceeded to NAIA-3 to get another booking.
Desperate to get another flight, Ambato jumped from the departure area of NAIA-3 and landed feet first before his head hit the pavement at the arrival area taxi bay.
Ambato sustained leg injuries and minor bruises in the head. He was immediately rushed by airport police to the Pasay City General Hospital (PGH) for treatment.
Foreign and local passengers who were on queue at the taxi bay at NAIA Terminal 3 were shocked to see the incident.
Ambato is reportedly to be in stable condition.
The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) has yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
