We normally take tabloiod reports with a grain of salt – and that’s what we hoped to do when we read New York Post’s headline ‘Doctors grow nose on man’s forehead’. Then when we saw the Reuters photo credit, and we had to step back, rub our nose and ask ourselves, could this be true?
According to the report, surgeons at a hospital in Fujian, China, a 22-year-old patient’s nose was damaged after a car accident last year, for which he only got basic medical treatment. His nose got infected and now he needs plastic surgery, so they grew a new nose on his forehead, which will be transplanted to his old one.
