Nurses from California assist in Yolanda relief ops

No matter what their citizenship may be, they’re all still Pinoys.

“The first team of nurses from the California Nurses Association/National Nurses United, with previous disaster experience, headed to Manila over the weekend, to assist in medical relief operations in the some of the hardest-hit areas in the Philippines in the wake of Typhoon Yolanda,” reports ABS-CBN North America Bureau correspondent Henni Espinosa.

State Assemblyman Rob Bonta, the only Filipino-American in the California legislature, was among those who sent off the nurses. Most of the nurses on the California team are also Filipino-American.
