NPA marks 45th anniversary, QCPD on red alert

Other police units are most probably doing the same thing.

“The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has been put in full alert status for the anniversary of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army or (CPP-NPA) tomorrow, Saturday, Mar 29,” reports Francis T. Wakefield in the Manila Bulletin.

Senior Insp. Maricar Taqueban, QCPD spokesperson, said there will be “increased police presence in government offices and vital installations to prevent possible retaliatory attacks coming from the group.” Checkpoints will be set up in key areas around the city.

Apparently, the full alert status was already in effect on Monday, Mar 24.
