Not informed: Tourists line up at Marcos mausoleum in Ilocos Norte

On Fri morning, Nov 18, tourists lined up at the Marcos mausoleum in Ilocos Norte. They didn’t know that the remains of Ferdinand Marcos were no longer there,

At around 11am, tourists were seen lining up at the Marcos mausoleum which famously housed the supposedly preserved body of the late dictator for decades.

Police, however, confirmed that the body was flown already flown to Metro Manila for the hushed and hurried burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.

The body in the mausoleum is only a wax replica, frustrating tourists who thought they were looking at Marcos’ real remains.

When a helicopter was seen at Ilocos Norte, it was claimed that the aircraft was just bringing relief goods, according to reports.

The Marcos family has been preparing for the burial and bought a casket as early as August. The confidentially priced, solid bronze casket was ordered from the U.S. and was picked by former First Lady Imelda Marcos herself, mortician Dr. Frank Malabed had said. —with reports from Grace Alba, ABS-CBN News
