Nona weakens, Onyok now in PH

So, now we have two tropical depressions in the country at the same time!

Tropical cyclone Nona has weakened into a tropical depression, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

PAGASA said Nona significantly weakened, now packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center.

Nona is forecast to remain stationary and weaken into a low pressure area by Fri, Dec 18.

Only Pangasinan and Zambales remain under signal number 1. These areas should expect winds of 30 to 60 kph in 36 hours.

Nona killed at least 11 people and cut power for millions in the hardest hit regions.

With many people still reeling from Nona’s wrath, tropical depression Onyok entered the Philippine area of responsibility at 1:45pm on Wed, Dec 16.

“Onyok is expected to make landfall over Caraga region by Fri afternoon, Dec 18,” reports CNN Philippines.
