No Bar Exam leakage, says SC

Just keep your eyes on the prize, future attorneys!

The Supreme Court on Thurs evening issued a statement denying the rumors that it is considering cancelling the bar examinations after the questions for the commercial law and criminal law subjects have been supposedly leaked.

Associate Justice Presbitero Velasco Jr., chairperson of the 2016 bar examination said that there is no truth to these “unsubstantiated social media” rumors.

He also said that there are no plans to cancel the Bar examinations nor are there plans to re-administer the supposedly leaked subjects.

“There is no iota of truth to these statements. These unfounded reports that are being irresponsibly circulated in social media only undermine the efforts of the Bar Chairperson to safeguard the confidentiality and integrity of the Bar exams,” Velasco said.

He also asked the public to stop giving unnecessary stress and anxiety to the examinees.

In the ongoing 2016 bar examination, there are more than 6,000 candidates. The last day of the exams is scheduled on Nov 27.
