Too good to be true: Campaign posters showing Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim with Lito Atienza, former mayor and his long-time rival for city hall, have been showing up in Manila.
Both Lim and Atienza have denied releasing the posters.
“They’re making it look like we are allies. That poster is fake and didn’t come from us,” Atienza said in an ABS-CBN News report. Atienza, Manila mayor from 1998 to 2007, said Lim destroyed the projects he put in place in his three terms. “How can I identify myself with somebody who damaged Manila?,” he said.
Atienza, now with Buhay party-list, supports former President Joseph Ejercito Estrada who is running against Lim. He said Lim himself may be behind the posters.
Lim said, though, that he does not know who released the posters. “I did not authorize such,” he said.
