NFA warehouse in Leyte collapses as mob barges in, 8 dead

This horror story may also be happening in other “isolated” areas that were hit by Typhoon Yolanda.

“National Food Authority (NFA) administrator Orlan Calayag said their warehouse in Alangalang, a town that’s 15 to 20 kilometers away from Tacloban City, collapsed on Monday, Nov 11, when a large group of Typhoon Yolanda survivors barged in,” reports ABS-CBNNews.com.

Eight people died in the mishap and some 33,000 bags of NFA rice were looted.

Calayag said that “the NFA has already asked assistance from the police and military to secure warehouses and personnel delivering additional rice supply to affected provinces.”
