The time and effort you spent setting up your Christmas decorations can earn for you a bit of cash this holiday season. If you’re a Meralco customer, you can enter your Christmas lighting fixtures and decors in a competition.
Alfredo S. Panlilio, Meralco senior vice president for customer retail services, said they will be giving away P5,000 in prizes to daily winners of the “Maliwanag and Pasko” contest.
This is the sixth consecutive year that Meralco is giving out prizes to customers who spruce up their homes, establishments and cities for the upcoming Christmas season.
Entries for the contest may be submitted to the company’s Facebook page. Alternatively, customers may join by sending in a Maligaya and Pasko 2012 application, which can be downloaded from the same site.
Besides the residential winners, Meralco will also give away cash prizes (1st prize – P250,000; 2nd prize – P150,000; and 3rd prize – P100,000) to participating local government units (LGU) that will put up “Liwanag Parks.” Additionally, Meralco will also provide each LGU with a giant parol and 500 boxes of Christmas lights, Interaksyon.com reported.
