Women’s group laments state of women in the country

It seems that President Benigno Aquino III is being hit from all angles these days. Militant women’s group Gabriela also expressed dissatisfaction on the treatment and status of women under his administration.

In an ABS CBN News report, Gabriela NCR Chair Ian Arevallo said much is left to be desired when it comes to women’s rights and welfare in the Philippines.

The group held a lightning protest at the Mendiola Bridge in Manila on Tuesday. They will be joining other women’s organizations in a much bigger protest action on Friday, March 8,  International Women’s Day.
