Women workers rally for RH Bill on Bonifacio Day

Partido ng Manggagawa (PM) members commemorated Bonifacio Day by staging a protest rally at Welcome Rotonda calling for the President and Congress to put the Reproductive Health Bill to vote immediately.

The protest, dubbed as “Kalayaan at Karapatan ng Kababaihan (KKK)”, is supposedly PM’s version of Bonifacio’s Katipunan uprising in opposition to the Spanish colonization.

PM Secretary General Judy Ann Miranda states that their group feels that the members of Congress up for re-election are not attending sessions because of their “fear of local priests”, thus the RH Bill could not be put into vote due to lack of quorum.

Miranda also appealed to the President and to lawmakers to use their powers for the improvement of women’s welfare and not to “surrender to this pathetic and Jurassic political situation.”

The PM members are marching to UST to unite with Nagkaisa! in bringing their demonstration to Mendiola, Interaksyon.com reported.
