Woman shot in Taguig for refusing to give her bag

A 53-year-old woman who refused to give up her handbag to robbers was shot dead in Taguig City on Monday afternoon.

Police identified the victim as Anna Padilla of Pio Felipe, Lower Bicutan, Taguig. The incident happened at 4 p.m. on Monday while Padilla was walking along the street. A man wearing a hat, sunglasses and a black jacket approached her and grabbed her handbag.

When Padilla fought back, the suspect shot her in the head. The presence of bystanders made the suspect flee, leaving behind the precious handbag, her jewelry, and PHP 34,000 tucked inside the woman’s waist.

The bag is said to contain lease documents and a list of names to whom Padilla had been lending money, the Journal reported.
